The RN-Cardiovascular Lab (full-time; weekdays only) provides direct patient care to the adult and geriatric patient undergoing diagnostic and interventional coronary, peripheral, and electrophysiology studies. Provides direct patient care to adolescents undergoing selected diagnostic and electrophysiology studies. Communicates with the physician continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory. Assess procedures rooms for equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and assures all appropriate needs of the patient care team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during the procedure. Participates in performance improvement activities. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to WFH standards of behavior. The Cardiovascular Lab Registered Nurse is responsible for the general nursing activities in the Cardiac Cath Lab, providing quality patient care. The Cardiovascular Lab Registered Nurse is expected to assist with the planning and presentation of departmental inservices and to cross train in areas outside the normal nursing responsibilities. Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care. Qualifications Education: Associate's Degree (or Diploma) in Nursing is required; a current and clear Florida Registered Nurse license is required; ACLS certification is required. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of Critical Care or Telemetry experience or one (1) year Cardiac Cath Lab experience is required. Skills/Abilities: Proficiency in interpreting EKG and hemodynamic tracings is required. Organizational, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and communication skills in a detail-oriented, customer-focused organization are required. Basic computer skills are required. Ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and verbally is required. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds; Possess the ability to work as member of a team or independently as the needs require and to prioritize responsibilities; Clinically proficient in cath lab procedures demonstrating a knowledge of the developmental needs of the adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
